Description

Curwen Archive edition, 1956, of Handel's "Spring" arranged by Maurice Jacobson for 2 voices + piano accompaniment + solfa. English lyrics only. The piece was originally the aria "La Speranza e Guinta" from Handel's opera "Ottone" (Otho): in the 1920s it was edited by Arthur Somervell as one of 10 arias he arranged with new English lyrics, & bears no resemblance to a translation of the original text.
