Description
Grace Williams (1906-77) is widely considered to be Wales' foremost female composer of her generation. From Barry in South Wales, where she lived for most of her adult life, she studied with Vaughan Williams at the RCM, forming a firm friendship with fellow student Britten, and then studied with Egon Wellesz in Vienna. Her chamber music, recorded here in all world premiere recordings, spans 40 years.
