Anton Diabelli (1781-1858) was an Austrian publisher & composer, immortalised in the piano repertoire as the composer of an inconsequential waltz theme transformed by Beethoven in his mighty set of variations. With their graceful melodies & clear harmonic structures, the pieces in this volume have always been popular examples of the classical sonatina. Published by ABRSM, 1988, as no.73 in their Easier Piano Pieces series.
