Description

Joseph Parry's " A Short Fantasia of Welsh Airs" for violin + piano accompaniment comprises 4 short movements: it was composed while Parry was a lecturer in music at University College, Cardiff (1888-1903). This is the first time it has been published. Amongst other familiar Welsh tunes, it features the melody from ‘Toriad y Dydd' in the second movement, ‘Lament'. Tŷ Cerdd TCS001, 2015.
