A double CD pack giving an excellent insight into the world of Welsh folk music, with its strong accent on melody, harmony & stringed instruments, especially the national instrument of Wales, the harp. The 1st CD shows the tradition in its unadorned form, with songs mostly sung unaccompanied, some of which have been recorded "in the field" by The National Folk Museum of Wales at St Fagans. The 2nd CD contains more contemporary examples of the ways traditional songs & dances have been arranged & performed more recently by soloists, folk groups & ensembles.
