Rarely heard choral works by Verdi: the Hymn of the Nations was written for the London International Exhibition in 1862, & features the themes of the national anthems of the UK, France & Italy. The "Libera me", originally written as part of a composite work in memory of Rossini in 1869, would later be reworked into Verdi's full-length Requiem.
